Jade (Crassula) Bonsai Tree

Jades are evergreen plants with thick branches and smooth, rounded, fleshy leaves that grow in opposing pairs along the branches. Leaves are a rich jade green; some varieties may develop a red tinge on the edges of leaves when exposed to high levels of sunlight. New stem growth is the same color and texture as the leaves, but becomes brown and woody with age. Under the right conditions, they may produce small white or pink star-like flowers in early spring.

Jade plants are commonly used as indoor Bonsai trees. Jade Bonsai are easy to look after and respond well pruning. Bonsai styling is often in the informal or informal upright formation.

Position the Bonsai in a well lit area. Never expose Jade Bonsai to frost conditions.

Jade Bonsai trees can hold large amounts of water inside their leaves. Water sparsely and allow the plant to dry out a little bit between watering.

Lightly prune the Jade bonsai into shape.

Jade Bonsai tend to only need repotting every two years. Check on the growth and repot sooner if required.

Feed Jade Bonsai once a month during the active growing period.
